Many Pittsburgh-area residents who are injured as a result of the negligence of another are fortunate enough to escape with relatively minor injuries. These individuals can also present with extreme confusion, slurred speech and other cognitive limitations. While these symptoms sound scary, they pale in comparison to some of the long-term effects imposed by serious traumatic brain injuries. Those who are subjected to this type of harm may be left in a vegetative state, paralyzed to a certain extent and suffer other physical and mental impairment that can last a lifetime.
Treating and attempting to recover from a traumatic brain injury can be painful both physically and emotionally. It can also be extremely costly, as medical expenses and rehabilitation costs can quickly skyrocket. This is why those who have suffered one of these injuries at the hand of another negligent individual should think about pursuing a personal injury lawsuit.
